Nature has inherent qualities that contribute to the healing process of individuals, while developing and increasing a sense of interconnectedness with others and with the environment. The observation of nature's actors interacting with each other evokes a never-ending source of metaphors that are applicable to all walks of life. Veterans specifically possess the skills, drive, experience, and overall strengths to preserve nature's true state while simultaneously benefiting from the innate healing opportunities it provides.
We were excited to participate in feedback to the Department of Veterans Affairs on recommendations and insight about Outdoor Recreation programs and the benefits they can provide for our Veterans; in efforts of furthering programs like The Swamp Apes to be offered as treatment and support.
